« Empower Athletes, Protect their Rights ! »

J’ai le plaisir d’intervenir dans la Conférence intitulée « Empower Athletes, Protect their Rights ! », qui se tiendra à l’IRIS (sur site et en ligne), le 15 mai prochain, au matin, dans le cadre du projet européen H.E.R.O.

Aux cotés de Silvija Mitevska, Fondatrice et Directrice générale de Sport Social Solutions, Charlotte Feraille, Déléguée générale de la Fondation du Sport français, Carole Gomez, Chercheuse associée à l’IRIS et assistante diplômée en sociologie du sport au sein de l’Institut des sciences du Sport de l’Université de Lausanne, Daniela Heerdt, Chercheuse et consultante en sport et droits humains, et Pim Verschuuren, Chercheur associé à l’IRIS.

La conférence (en anglais) sera modérée par Lukas Aubin, Directeur de recherches et responsable du Programme Sport et Géopolitique à l’IRIS.

This conference will address crucial issues concerning the protection of human rights in sports today. It will highlight the limitations of current governance systems while showcasing concrete European initiatives designed to better equip sporting structures, raise awareness among participants, and establish appropriate prevention and response protocols. Human rights experts, leaders of sports organizations, and members of civil society will share their analyses, best practices, and field experiences. Particular attention will be given to adopting an inclusive and intersectional approach, ensuring that no one is left behind. The goal? To make sport a genuinely safe, fair, and respectful environment for everyone’s rights. Because improving athletes’ rights means improving human rights.
